Working for VP Harris and building her women's coalition has been the honor of a lifetime. We gave it our all, and I take great pride in what we built and achieved in such a short time.
While I am heartbroken - I'm also fired up. I've run for office and lost; defeat at the ballot box hurts but is temporary. Women get back up, and I am confident that VP Harris is the kind of leader who gets back up. And I know our coalition WILL get back up and lead the fight to protect our freedoms over the next four years.
As we push forward, just like President Biden passed the baton, it's time for others to do the same. There are brilliant people with fresh and diverse perspectives ready to lead. We need a new way of doing things, which means giving new voices a seat at the table.
And that table must include more Black women. Our campaign began well before the VP courageously stepped up to save it - she is the leader of a lifetime. And Black women once again delivered our highest voting bloc. We will take our seat at the table.
This election made America's views of women clear, especially those of women in the highest positions. Sexism and misogyny have delivered a second Trump administration, and that is a great American tragedy. Today, we rest, and tomorrow, WE GET BACK UP. Forever team #WomenforHarris
