That Damn Exterminator!

I don't do bugs, of course I see one I call the exterminator. Even during a pandemic.

Exterminator: "Weren't you on TV?" Me: "Yea, I ran for Congress." Exterminator: "Are you gonna run again?" Me: "Not sure, it got nasty." Exterminator: "Please don't let that deter you. We need change. I'm not a Republican or Democrat, but I just know we need something new."

I don't know who needs to hear this, but this is your moment, it's your time. Covid-19 and our government's response has proven that the old way isn't working. It's clear by all, we need and we deserve better. Young people, if you're reading this, please run for something!

You don't have to be perfect to lead - all humans are flawed. You don't have to have a certain background or expertise to run - just look at Donald Trump. We need more women, and especially women of color to run - our positions and needs aren't on the table because we haven't taken our seat at the table.

If I can run, so can you. You have nothing to lose by running - I had a hard campaign and I suffered a vicious attack. It couldn't have gone much worse. But,I cherished every minute of the experience. It made stronger and more confident. I had a chance to advocate for the issues that matter most to me and my community. I wouldn't change the experience for the anything in the world - I found my voice.
